Work in the village

"Work is suppose to be fun, don't make it hard"

BookworkshopWe make books with silk paper and these are mainly for the Steiner schools in and around Norway.

Weavery - In the weavery we make small items like winter hats and gloves and big items like carpets and jerseys. Most of the work is done by hands so all our products are hand- made.

Pottery The pottery produces plates, bowls and many more with all kinds of designs. All products are all burnt in a fire kiln and these are all hand-made.

Woodworkshop This is a workshop that makes cooking sticks, clothing buttons and we repair our house furniture in there as well.

Farm On the farm we have cattle, sheep, pigs and chicken. We also have fields where we grow potatoes, carrots, hay for the cattle. The milk we use in our houses is from our cows and the beef is from our farm as well.

Gabi’s Garden - Mostly a summer project and in there we grow many kinds of vegetables and flowers.

Meaningful work in Workshops – villagers and co-workers

Work is important and is valued in several ways, it gives us a social life, helps villagers and co-workers feel they belong to a team and interact regularly with different people.

Working makes them feel good about themselves and they can see themselves gaining experience, expertise, status and acknowledgement by their colleagues.

They feel fulfilled and it gives them a sense of personal achievement by presenting them with new challenges, helping them grow and be creative in the different working workshops.
