The Camphill Village Foundation in Norway is a non-profit organization.
The Village Foundation is sponsored by the state, but not wholly, therefore, each village is dependent on the idealism of the residents. All residential buildings, workshops prior to 2005 are financed by savings-staff salaries. Surplus products of the workshops also help with financing.
Through new legislation, it is also made possible that the villagers participate in the financing of future construction projects.
Every villager gets a sufficient pension from the state and the state also pays for his / her stay.
The largest part is in turn paid to the Foundation and thus used for the further and development of the Foundation.
This system promotes a sense of ownership by the village community, thus empowering the village to have a say in the village development
